Pacific Highway Upgrade
The Pacific Highway upgrade is the largest road infrastructure project in Australia. It connects Sydney and Brisbane, and is a major contributor to the country's economic activity.
About the Pacific Highway upgrade
The Australian and NSW governments have been jointly funding the Pacific Highway upgrade to provide a four lane divided road from Hexham to Queensland. The upgrade started in 1996 and finishing work will continue into 2021.
The upgrade of the highway has improved road safety, travel efficiency and regional connectivity.
